Meaghan Thumath

 

 
Meaghan Thumath is a founding member of the Nursing Harm Reduction Network, Meaghan has been involved in HIV/AIDS community projects since 1994 working as a Canadian nurse at St Paul’s HIV Ward 10C, North America’s first heroin prescription trial, NAOMI, and the pregnancy and addictions outreach project Sheway.
 
She is currently a member of the HIV and Addictions team at Vancouver Coastal Health where she works as the Clinical Coordinator for Insite, North America’s first supervision injection facility as well as a Street Nurse for the BC Centre for Disease Control’s Division of STI/HIV Prevention and Control.
 
Having recently completed her MSc in Public Health at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, Meaghan has also been working as an International HIV Consultant in Haiti, Uruguay, North Africa, and Thailand for organizations such as UNAIDS, the British Red Cross and Red Crescent Society and the International HIV/AIDS Alliance.
