Rod Thomson works as the Consultant in Public Health for Sefton Primary Care Trust in the UK.
His nursing career spans mental and physical health care in both hospital and community settings. He currently leads a range of harm reduction and alcohol/drug treatment programmes. His role includes working closely with Police and Prison services to reduce re-offending.
Rod has worked in Cuba and Lithuania as well as presenting papers in Australia, Canada, Japan, Taiwan and in Europe on a range of nursing and substance misuse topics. Rod is Vice Chair of the Congress of the Royal College of Nursing UK and earned its highest Award a Fellowship in 2002.
